Optimise Energy – Case Study (as written by the client)
As part of an ongoing overheads cost reduction programme, Motivair identified the need to review their annual lighting expenditure and approached multiple suppliers including Optimise for a quotation to replace the whole lighting system in their Burntwood Office.
From the providers contacted, Optimise presented as the most helpful throughout the quotation process. With plans to utilise grants available toward lighting costs, it was important for Motivair to find a provider that could support this. Optimise showed a great understanding of the grant process and supported Motivair throughout the grant application which ultimately covered 60% of the lighting installation cost.
Upon initial surveys carried, Optimise were very thorough and made suitable recommendations for the whole lighting system at Motivair’s Burntwood office. Recommendations included the installation of additional emergency lighting in all rooms to ensure compliance with current regulations, whilst also anticipating future regulatory requirements.
The system installation took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this being a challenging period for all, Optimise’s installation engineer remained extremely professional and installed the system safety whilst adhering to Government issued COVID-19 advice.
It is anticipated that minimal, if any, maintenance will be required on the system over the next 10 years, resulting in an annual saving on £2,000 in repairs and fixtures. Alongside this, moving from fluorescent tubes to LED means that’s Motivair will achieve a £4,000 annual saving in energy consumption. Whilst cost savings were the primary objective, the installation of a more energy efficient lighting system reduces Motivair’s carbon footprint by over 4 tonnes, helping the business to achieve a greener sustainability profile.
